Forest Are Our Breath 

Forest is a one of the ecosystem in the world. Forest is an important part in the 
enviroment and it has many advantages, especially for humankind and other creatures.

Firstly , Forest is very important and needed for any kinds of animals and plants.

Forest is a habitat and needed for a shelter of any kinds of  animals and plants. 

Secondly , Forest is very important to keep the air fresh and clean.

Many plants in the forest produce oxygen , therefore they provide the oxygen for other
creatures including human and animals. Plants are also able to filter bad or dirty air 
like CO ( Carbon monoxide ), CO₂ ( Carbon dioxide ) to be clean air like O₂ that can be used by 
human and other creatures through Photosynthesis. 

Thirdly , Forest can prevent the global warming. 

As you know the effect of global warming is getting worst like 
the melting of north pole and south pole that makes flood in 
many countries and cause climate instability. Global warming is 
caused by the damage of the ozon layer. The damage of ozon 
layer is caused by bad or dirty air that comes from the emition 
gas of many factories.

Forest can absorb the emition of gas to be clean air. 

Finally , Forest can also be used for human activities like camping, wide game, recreration , 
picnic, wall climbing and  many more with its beautiful scenery and the fresh air. Forest is 
suitable for us to do many activities.  

So, from the facts above it’s obvious that forest is really  important for human life and other 
creatures like a shelter for animals and plants, source of fresh air, prevention for 
the global warming, and the place to do many activities for human.

Long time ago, there was a kingdom named Sanggau in the Borneo Island. It was a peaceful kingdom under the leadership of their wise king. There was a market in the kingdom of Sanggau. He owned his own restaurant in the market. One day, Mr Razak was cooking in his restaurant when a farmer passed by. But the farmer stopped in front of Mr Razak’s restaurant. He smells the aroma of the delicious food Mr Razak was cooking. “Hmmm… delicious… yummy,” said the farmer. "Hey! What are you doing? Do you want to come to my restaurant or not?” Mr Razak asked. "No, I don't. Smelling the aroma of your delicious food makes me full," said the farmer. “So you’re full by smelling my food?” asked Mr Razak again. “Yes, I am,” the farmer answered. “If that’s the case, you have to pay me for the smell of my delicious food,” said Mr Razak. “I don’t want to pay. I didn’t eat anything,” said the farmer. But Mr Razak kept persisting that the farmer must pay for the aroma of his food. Both of them started to quarrel. People came and asked them to calm down. They suggested that Mr Razak and the farmer go to the King to solve the problem.

In the following day, Mr Razak and the farmer went to the palace. "Please tell me what happened,” asked the King. Mr Razak and the farmer told the King about the problem. "Hmm...I have the solution,” said the King after he heard the story from both Mr Razak and the farmer. The King then asked the farmer to bring out his money, and then put the coin into a bottle. ”Do you hear the sound of the coins?" asked the King to Mr Razak. "Yes, I do," answered Mr Razak. "Then, the farmer has just paid you. He pays your delicious aroma with the sound of his money," explained the King. Mr Razak was silent. He knew the King was right. The King just gave him a lesson. He then apologize to the farmer.

Folklore - Nai Manggale

Nai Manggale

Once upon a time in Tapanuli, lived a famous sculptor named Datu Panggana. When he got an order, he went to the forest to look for the most suitable wood and carved it according to the order. One day, he got an inspiration to carve a wood he found. He worked all day in his workshop to carve the wood into a statue of a beautiful woman. Then, he put the statue in front of his house.

Later, a young merchant passed by and saw the statue. His name was Bao Partigatiga. He was very impressed by the beauty of the statue. He then put beautiful clothes and jewelries on the statue. “It’s so beautiful,” he said to himself proudly. The statue looked like a real human. Then he left Datu Panggana’s house.

After that, a priest named Datu Partoar and his wife passed by. They were also impressed by the beauty of the statue. "I want to pray to God to make her live like a real human. I want to make her as our daughter," said Datu Partoar to his wife. The couple didn’t have any children yet. The statue changed into a very beautiful girl. Datu Partoar and his wife then took the girl home. They named her Nai Manggale.

The news about Nai Manggale’s beauty spread throughout the village. All the villagers came to Datu Partoar’s house to see Nai Manggale. Among them were Datu Panggana and Bao Partigatiga. Nai Manggale honestly told the villagers that she was actually a statue which became a living woman by the grace of God.

Datu Panggana went after Datu Partoar to claim his own creation and Bao Partigatiga also claimed his right for the living statue. “It was me who carved her from a wood. So, she is mine,” said Datu Panggana. “She is wearing my clothes and jewelries. So, she should go with me,” said Bao Partigatiga. "Remember, I am the one who made her live like a human. So, she stays here," Datu Partoar also join in the argument.

Those three men were arguing. They claimed to have the rights of Nai Manggale. To calm them, an elderly of the village gave a solution. His name was Aji Bahir. "You all can have her and have a relationship with her. Datu Panggana, you’re her uncle. Bao Partigatiga, you’re her brother. And Datu Partoar, you’re her father." The three men accepted Aji Bahir's advice. And they were happy because now they were related.

Narrative Text - A Bear and a rabbit

A bear and a rabbit

           

Once upon a time there lived as neighbour, a bear and a rabbit. Unlike the bear, the rabbit was a good hunter. Therefore, the bear always asked the rabbit to hunt for him. The rabbit could not defuse the bear’s demand because he is afraid of the bear.

            Every week, the rabbit go to the woods to shoot buffaloes. He shot and killed so many buffaloes. However the bear was very greedy. He didn’t allow the rabbit to get any meats. Poor rabbit would have to go home hungry all the time.

            The bear was the father of five children. The mother bear always gave her youngest boy an extra large meat. But the baby bear never ate the extra meat. Secretly, he would take the meat outside and pretend to play ball with it. He would give the meat such a great kick that it would fly into the rabbit’s house. In this way, the rabbit would get his meal unknown the papa bear.

Benci Jadi Cinta

Nama gue Ela, gue kelas 1 SMA di SMA 1 Pekanbaru. Gue lg suka sama cowo namanya Dino, awal-awalnya si ga suka. Dulu gue sering banget berantem sama dia, bah kalo udah ketemu mah bawaannya berantem terus haha…. Awal dari pertengkaran antara gue dan Dino di mulai pada saat MOS ( Masa Orientasi Siswa). Dia kaka kelas gue dan anak OSIS, dia ngerjain gue pake kecoa di masukin ke dalem tas gue. Spontan begitu gue liat kecoa gue lgsg loncat-loncat di dalam aula. Akhirnya anak-anak seangkatan gue di tambah anak OSIS yang lain pun tertawa, di situlah gue ngerasa benci banget sama dia. Setelah selesai MOS, gue pun membalas perbuatan Dino dengan cara menaruh permen karet di kursinya. Akhirnya permen karet tersebut menempel di celananya. Gue pun tertawa pada saat itu juga Dino melihat gue tertawa dan langsung mendatangi gue, gue pun lari tapi Dino ngejar gue. Dan akhirnya gue berhasil lolos dari kejarannya.

            Setelah itu Dino pun membalas perbuatan gue dengan hal-hal yang membuat gue malu. Gue pun gamau kalah sama Dino, gue juga membalasnya. Kejadian ini terjadi berulang-ulang kali. Sampe suatu saat ada temen gue yang bilang

“La, lu ko berantem terus sama Dino? Nanti lama-lama lu suka lagi sama dia” kata Rina. “Ah mana mungkin, gue benci banget sama dia!” Jawab gue.

 “Benci-benci nanti juga jadi cinta loh hahaha” Jawab Rina.

 Gue pun hanya diam saja, dalam hati gue mikir “masa iya gue bakal suka sama Dino, kaga mungkin! Secara gue sebel banget sama dia dari awal masuk SMA ini, gue ga bakalan lupain apa yang udah dia perbuat ke gue dan bikin malu gue di depan umum!”

Pada suatu hari gue bangun kesiangan, mama gue berkata, “La, bangun udah jam setengah 7.”

 “Hah setengah 7?!” jawab gue.

Gue langsung melihat jam dan benar sudah pukul 06:30. Gue pun bergegas bangun dari tempat tidur lalu mandi, sampai-sampai gue tidak sempat makan. Jam 06:40 gue sudah sampai di depan sekolah, kebetulan pintu hamper di tutup. Gue pun cepat-cepat berlari tak di sangka gue malah bertabrakan dengan si Dino, buku yang gue bawa jatuh semua.

“Kalo jalan liat-liat dong! Jangan asal nabrak aja, jadi berantakan buku gue” kata gue.

“Eh lunya aja yang jalan ga liat-liat, ga tau ada orang lagi buru-buru apa?” jawab Dino. Gue pun segera merapikan buku-buku gue dan kembali ke kelas. Kebetulan arah kelas kami sama, lalu kami bertemu dengan guru BK.

“Kalian telat ya? Sekarang ikut ibu ke ruang piket” kata bu santi. Akhirnya kami pun berjalan menuju ruang piket, di sana banyak anak-anak yang terlambat datang juga. Lalu gue, Dino, dan beberapa siswa yang datang terlambat di beri sanksi yaitu mengepel lantai seluruh sekolahan.

Gue berpikir “ hari ini gue sial banget! Udah ketemu dia, pake tabrakan segala! Terus sekarang di suruh ngepel seluruh sekolahan lagi! “. Tiba-tiba maag gue kambuh, karena saking lemasnya gue pun pingsan. Bu santi menyuruh Dino untuk menggendong gue dan memindahkan gue ke ruang UKS. Begitu bangun gue pun kaget karena berada di ruang UKS dan ada Dino yang lagi nungguin gue.

            Dino berkata “ lu udah sadar? Tadi lu pingsan, lu belum makan kan? Ni ada makanan, jangan lupa di makan dan di minum obatnya”. Dari situ gue berpikir “Dino baik juga ya, perhatian ke gue. Padahal selama ini yang gue tau dia itu nyebelin dan tukang ngerjain orang. Ternyata dibalik nyebelinnya dia, dia baik banget”. Iya makasih lu udah  nolongin gue kata gue sambil senyum.

Mulai saat itu gue tertarik dengan Dino, gue jadi sering liat dia waktu latihan basket. Gue juga jadi sering ngelamunin dia, sampe suatu saat temen gue bilang gini ke gue
“ Eh La, lu naksir ya sama Dino? Klo gue liat elu sering banget mandangin dia, di kelas juga sering banget ngelamun”.

 “Hah masa? Kaga kok. Masa iya gue suka sama Dino? hahahaha” Bales gue.

            Gue pun berpikir dalam hati “ Masa sih gue suka Dino? Perasaan gue dulu sebel banget, ko gue juga jadi sering ngelamunin dia ya? Masa sih gue suka? Ayo dong Elaa, mana mungkin lu suka sama Dino. Lu kan dari dulu benci sama dia, apa bener ya yang di katain sama Rina? Benci-benci nanti jadi cinta :|”

            Udah kurang lebih 3 bulan gue sama Dino ga pernah berantem lagi. Dia pun jadi akrab sama gue, sering banget ngajak gue jalan. Di sekolah juga dia slalu nyamperin gue ke kelas gue. Gue pun sering jalan bareng ke kantin, dan perpustakaan bareng Dino. Lalu Rina berkata ke gue

“La, lu jadian ya sama si Dino? Gue liat elu sering banget jalan sama dia. Lu juga udah ga pernah berantem lagi sama dia, jangan-jangan lu suka ya sama Dino? Hahaha bener kan kata gue, benci-benci nanti juga jadi cinta :3’’ katanya sambil tertawa.

 “ Ah, kaga hahaha, jangan nyebarin gosip yang engga-engga lu” Jawab gue.

Ga kerasa udah 6 bulan gue deket sama dia, gue sama dia jadi sering BBMan, Skype, mention-mentionan di twitter. Gue yang dulu bukan lagi gue yang sekarang. Sekarang semuanya berubah dulu gue benci banget sama Dino, sekarang gue malah jadi suka sama dia.

 “apa jangan-jangan gue kena karma yah? -_- dulu gue benci banget, sekarang bisa jadi suka sama dia”.

            Keesokan harinya, gue pun cerita ke sahabat-sahabat gue kalo gue suka sama Dino. Gue ngerasa malu, gue yang dulu sering banget jelek-jelekin dia sekarang malah jadi suka sama dia. Dan akhirnyaa *…* temen-temen gue bantuin gue dan support gue supaya gue bisa jadian sama Dino. Gue ngerasa terharu banget sama mereka, gue pikir mereka bakalan ngetawain gue. Ternyata mereka malah ndukung gue, mereka emang sahabat gue yang paling baik :’).

            Semakin hari, gue sama Dino makin deket. Udah kaya surat dengan perangko, nempel terus hahahaha. Dimana ada Dino, pasti ada gue. Banyak banget yang gosipin gue kalo gue pacaran sama Dino, padahal gue belum jadian sama dia. “kapan yah gue jadian sama Dino? Emangnya Dino suka ke gue? Masa iya? Gue kan dulu musuhan sama dia, jangan-jangan gue cuma di anggep sebagai temen biasa sama Dino“  kata gue dalam hati, gue bingung sama perasaan gue antara suka dan takut kalau cinta gue bertepuk sebelah tangan.

            Beberapa bulan pun berlalu, tepat di tanggal 11 Desember 2013 (11-12-13) Dino nembak gue. Gue pun cerita ke sahabat-sahabat gue, mereka ikut senang :D. And finally, gue pun nerima Dino. Gue juga minta maaf ke dia kalau dulu gue sering banget jailin dia. Dia pun berkata demikian juga.

            Gue ga nyangka banget dia yang dulu gue benci, gue malah jadi suka sama dia di tambah lagi gue sama dia udah jadian. Perasaan ini bercampur antara malu karena dulu gue sering banget jailin and jelek-jelekin dia, tapi seneng juga soalnya gue udah jadian sama si dia.

10 tahun berlalu, kami telah mengikat janji setia di Bali 2 tahun yang lalu. Dan kami telah dikaruniai seorang malaikat cilik yang unyu unyu gitu deeeh. Akhirnya kami menjadi keluarga yang sangat bahagia.
